This solution has also enabled work flexibility and mobility, increased access security, centralized management and has greatly decreased issues arising from PC data loss.
What was the project and how did it deliver real outcomes for Hyundai?
Kawa Farid: “Hyundai is a growing business in ANZ. In order to support growth, a flexible and efficient IT platform is required. It is important for Hyundai IT to be able to respond to the requests of the business in a timely and effective manner, and to also be able to easily cost and budget for these initiatives. Having grown the IT infrastructure internally with a virtualised platform based on traditional storage, we were looking at options to bring the same benefits the virtualisation of applications and services delivered to the storage infrastructure. By deploying Nutanix with BEarena to replace the ageing and disparate server and storage tiers, we established a cloud like platform with predictable cost, and scalability. This has enabled us to accurately monitor cost of IT services, plan for growth, and quickly and easily scale to meet new business requirements, negating the need to re-architect the entire environment to onboard new applications and services.”

Has this solution supported the demands of your organisation?
Kawa Farid: “100%. Hyundai have launched numerous applications on the Nutanix infrastructure, all with minimal changes to the surrounding infrastructure. The self-managing and self-tuning features of the Nutanix infrastructure has enabled the IT department to focus on new business requirements, rather than managing the infrastructure itself. This in turn means the environment has grown over 200% in the last four years, with no additional IT staff required. We have been able to launch many new applications supporting our dealer network, improving service to our partners and most valuably our customers when selecting or servicing their vehicles.”
