Last week, ASI Solutions embarked on a jam-packed three-day company conference at the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove, Queensland – CONNECT 2022! With over 160 team members from all over Australia and New Zealand attending, and many having never met each other in person before, the goal was to bring everyone together to connect, build strong relationships, learn, create lasting memories and ensure we are working effectively as one team, with a common purpose, delivering sensational outcomes!
After getting reacquainted, or meeting for the first time, we were thrown into our first in-person keynote (with a twist) for CONNECT 2022. Shaun Kelly, Director at People with Influence, guided #TeamASI through a business simulation named Wall Street – Winners Never Sleep. Team members pitted against each other with the task of making as much money as possible in a sophisticated, challenging, high energy and tactile team-based activity. It was carnage and transformed the engagement of participants, filling the room with laughter, noise and bustling activity.
This set the tone for the next two days of connection and excitement within the team. Following the Wall Street activity, Shaun Kelly facilitated an interview with the directors of ASI Solutions, Nathan Lowe and Justin Lowe, where they shared their thoughts on the strategic direction of the business, how we are going to continue to invest in our people, systems and processes and drive delightful outcomes for our customers.
It’s an exciting time for ASI Solutions as we continue to grow and adapt, while remaining true to our values. The technology landscape is an exciting area in which to work. At ASI Solutions we will continue to bring inspired people together in forums like CONNECT to ensure our people remains at the cutting edge of IT services and solutions.

The afternoon’s content naturally led the team into a welcome networking event. The evening started with an official Welcome to Country by the Yugambeh people who performed a number of traditional stories to the group. Following this, the attendees took the chance to spend some time with each of our sponsors through an informal networking activity. This afforded our team a much-needed opportunity to relax and connect with new and old team members and business partners.
The next morning the team were treated to their second keynote, hosted by Sarah Carney, CTO of Enterprise Commercial at Microsoft. Sarah describes her role as bringing the art of the possible to life through technology, and she delivered an inspiring keynote to the team around the Future of Technology and the metaverse. The room was captivated, jaws were dropped and goosebumps risen as Sarah hinted at what was around the corner, enabled by technology. Following the Microsoft keynote, ASI Solutions Training Directors, Mat and Brett Gilbertson encouraged everyone to dig deep and consider what it future we want to create through tech. Next the team split into groups for breakout session with our technology partners: Microsoft Surface, Lenovo, HP and Clevertouch Technologies.
Following lunch, we set sail aboard the superyacht – YOT Club. We were welcomed aboard with leis and custom branded coconuts and a DJ setting the relaxed vibe. After an afternoon cruising on the beautiful Gold Coast Broadwater sipping on coconuts, we were treated to a show from Jetpack Entertainment featuring powered jetskis and jetpacks.
Returning to the Intercontinental Sanctuary Cove, we all began transforming into our Razzle Dazzle, ahead of the Awards Night at Movie World which kicked off with exclusive use of the Batman and Superman rides along with cocktails and canapes. Afterwards, we were guided down to the Star Pavilion by Movie World entertainers for a three-course meal, series of awards and entertainment. This gave us the opportunity to mingle a bit more, sharing a meal and conversation with colleagues from all different areas of the company as well as different parts of the country. After coming together for our final breakfast, the team said their “see-you-soons” and departed back to the airport for the journey home. As we all parted ways after an incredible three days, we reflected on how CONNECT built a tighter and even more passionate team. The time together let us truly connect outside of a screen, as well as grow and have fun.
