Overview
Netball NSW has grown to become one of the largest independent sports organisations in New South Wales with over 115,000 members. They manage Netball at all performance levels, from local club leagues to all-star squads.
However, as Netball NSW continued to grow, they recognised that their existing IT infrastructure was not equipped to support their evolving needs. In January 2024, after a referral from a board member, Netball NSW officially partnered with ASI as their managed service provider to transform their IT environment and support their hybrid workplace needs.
Challenge
Netball NSW faced significant challenges with an inflexible and underutilised IT infrastructure. The incumbent IT provider could not adapt, leaving the organisation with unreliable security, inadequate support for their hybrid work environment and the burden of a recently purchased but underutilised and costly server.
This situation hampered their ability to achieve their IT transformation goals and fully support their staff, of which 95% worked in a hybrid environment. ASI needed to consider this expensive equipment while offering a solution that would meet the needs of Netball NSW’s needs.
Solution
ASI Solutions adopted a collaborative approach to help Netball NSW meet their growth goals while minimising the costs associated with their redundant investments.
By closely consulting with key members of the organisation, ASI identified the most effective strategies to overhaul their IT landscape. This process included finding ways to repurpose the costly, underutilised server, which resulted in a credit that was directed towards staff training and broader transformation initiatives. During the transition, ASI focused on minimising workflow disruption, ensuring a seamless overhaul of their IT environment.
Central to this effort was the implementation of Digital Skills training, which empowered staff to adapt quickly and effectively to the new technologies and processes.
Results
In the past seven months, ASI has successfully transitioned Netball NSW to a modern IT environment. Employees feel more capable and secure in their digital literacy skills and have ongoing IT support through the ASI team.
