Limited after-hours student support and rising teacher workloads hindered Fahan’s tech-forward ambitions
THE SOLUTION
An AI-powered tutor and teaching assistant tailored to enhance learning and reduce admin time
THE RESULTS
Fahan led Tasmania in AI adoption, improved student access, and boosted teacher efficiency
Overview
Fahan School, a leading independent all-girls school in Tasmania, has a strong reputation for embracing innovative technologies in education. Since 2023, ASI Solutions has partnered with Fahan to modernise its infrastructure, enhance cybersecurity, and implement modern workplace tools. Building on this foundation, the school sought to explore how artificial intelligence could support its teaching and learning goals.
Together, we identified safe and impactful ways to integrate AI into the classroom and beyond, enhancing both student outcomes and teacher efficiency.

Challenge
Fahan was seeking innovative ways to extend support for student learning beyond the classroom. Their aim was to enhance accessibility to academic assistance, particularly outside standard school hours. This initiative also needed to reinforce Fahan’s position as a progressive, tech-forward institution.
The leadership team was clear: any AI solution must support—not replace—teachers, and empower students to improve their understanding without simply handing out answers. With this in mind, the concept of a 24×7 intelligent homework tutor was born.
Solution
Working collaboratively, ASI Solutions introduced Anabelle for Education, a generative AI assistant tailored to support students, staff and executives. The rollout began with a proof of concept focused on student usage. Anabelle was trained to guide students through their homework by prompting critical thinking rather than providing solutions.
Seeing how quickly our students connected with Anabelle confirmed that we were on the right path.

To build trust and maximise success, Fahan also involved teachers in the testing process, exploring how Anabelle could automate lesson planning, draft differentiated units, provide feedback and generate reports.
“They felt supported, not replaced, and that distinction was key”, says Thomas Blackwood.
Results
From the first week, students began using Anabelle to navigate homework challenges after hours. The feedback from both teachers and students was overwhelmingly positive, with reports of increased engagement and independent learning.
Most notably, Fahan’s communication to parents about the initiative was met with praise – there wasn’t a single complaint. Teachers also began integrating Anabelle into lesson preparation and assessment creation, using her capabilities to save time and enhance classroom delivery.
We’ve seen genuine excitement from students, and relief from teachers who now have more time to focus on teaching. Anabelle hasn’t just been accepted, she’s been embraced.
