Hyundai Australia needed to refresh their Desktop Environment. The deployment of VMware View not only ticked this box but enabled fast deployment of new applications, to which is rapid growth and achieving market success. This solution has also enabled work flexibility and mobility, increased access security, centralized management and has greatly decreased issues arising from PC data loss.
What was the project and how did it deliver real outcomes for Hyundai?
Kawa Farid: “Hyundai is a growing business in ANZ. In order to support growth, a flexible and efficient IT platform is required. It is important for Hyundai IT to be able to respond to the requests of the business in a timely and effective manner, and to also be able to easily cost and budget for these initiatives. Having grown the IT infrastructure internally with a virtualised platform based on traditional storage, we were looking at options to bring the same benefits the virtualisation of applications and services delivered to the storage infrastructure. By deploying Nutanix with ASI Solutions BEarena to replace the ageing and disparate server and storage tiers, we established a cloud like platform with predictable cost, and scalability. This has enabled us to accurately monitor cost of IT services, plan for growth, and quickly and easily scale to meet new business requirements, negating the need to re-architect the entire environment to onboard new applications and services.”
“By working with ASI Solutions, we reduced rack space by 50% and are able to grow our IT infrastructure without the need for datacentre expansion, considerably reducing costs.”

What are specific benefits of this significant project?
Darren Ashley: “ASI Solutions BEarena delivered breakthrough innovation utilising Nutanix HCI greatly reducing hardware footprint. Coupled with VMware View this solution made it incredibly simple to manage and scale up, plus it removed complexity. This solution cannot be overstated as to the value and significance of this project to Hyundai. Their workforce has been able to leverage mobility, security and centrally delivered troubleshooting when assistance is required.”
Has this solution supported the demands of your organisation?
Kawa Farid: “100%. Hyundai have launched numerous applications on the Nutanix infrastructure, all with minimal changes to the surrounding infrastructure. The self-managing and self-tuning features of the Nutanix infrastructure has enabled the IT department to focus on new business requirements, rather than managing the infrastructure itself. This in turn means the environment has grown over 200% in the last four years, with no additional IT staff required. We have been able to launch many new applications supporting our dealer network, improving service to our partners and most valuably our customers when selecting or servicing their vehicles.”
Were timelines achieved for this project?
• The project was scoped with detailed workshops with the client;
• The project was delivered without any unforeseen issues on time and on budget;
• The project was considered a success after UAI testing confirming it delivered on all required project outcomes.
How did the project deliver value for money and ROI?
Darren Ashley: “This project not only met the projected cost of refreshing PC’s but facilitated additional functionality allowing the company to grow with flexibility and security.”
Kawa Farid continues: ” ASI Solutions, BEarena performed the transition seamlessly. With these changes, we were able to reduce rack space by 50%, and deliver associated power and cooling savings. Due to this, we have been able to grow our IT infrastructure without the need for datacentre expansion, considerably reducing cost. By being able to support these increased demands without increase in head count, we have further saved on operational cost.”
